Here,
Ena Lake is a 180' oasis of civilization located on the 60th
Parallel in the rugged Canadian north. This is a great fishing
adventure where professional guides take guests to fishing
grounds thick with feeding trout and massive pike. Arctic
Grayling, also known as the "sailfish of the north",
can be caught in our river system and are considered a trophy
by many because of their beauty and difficulty in landing
them.
Our
trophy waters for Pike, Trout and Arctic Grayling have been
preserved since they have never been commercially fished and
have very minimal fishing pressure with only a small number
of people having access to the large volume of fish that call
this area home. This is the only lodge on the lake allowing
our guests exclusive use of over 22,000 acres of water. Although
this is a large body of water, you will not have a long, pounding
boat ride just to get set up to fish. It is a very calm lake
and there are many fishing spots just minutes from the lodge.
In fact, guests are known to catch them right off the dock.
Choosing which fish you want to go after each day is not a
difficult decision either, as typically they are found in
areas very close together.
The topography is as diverse under the water as it is on top.
There are numerous rocky shores, shallow bays and the deep
channels run up to 300 ft. offering ideal habitat for our
species.
Generally
our pike range in size from 20" to 35" and good
opportunities exist to catch large specimens from the 35"
to 45" range including colossal Northern Pike up to 50".
These predators will jump on top water presentations with
reckless abandon. If you haven't experienced the take of a
northern pike, it's something to behold.
Lake
Trout are typically in the 8 to 12 lb. range and an average
fisherman can expect to catch laker's in the 20 to 25 lb.
range. Numerous ones are caught every year in the 30 to 40
lb. range with some "lunkers" in the 40 lb. plus
range. These are just about as special a fish as you will
find. A muscle with a head and tail on either end, Lake Trout
exude a brute power that's genuinely impressive when hooked
into.
Trophies,
trophies and more trophies. Our most recent season was very
impressive where we averaged better than 2 1/2 trophies per
person. If catching a big fish is on your list of things to
do, then you won't want to miss making "history"
at Ena Lake Lodge.
Grayling
are pretty special fish. Sometimes referred to as "an
indicator species" because they require absolutely pristine
conditions to survive. For those hiking enthusiasts who don't
mind a good portage, we have a stream where they are found
and you can spend an exciting afternoon tackling these aerialists
on ultra-light tackle.
Fly Fishing is great in the spring and fall when the pike
and trout are up in the shallows. Due to our unusually clear,
calm water and prodigious numbers this classic water can give
fly-fishermen world class action. Dry fly action with a setting
difficult to match anywhere.
In
addition to the main lake, guests can fish an additional 3
lakes and 2 rivers which are a short distance away - at no
extra charge.

The
"bite", the "strike", the "take",
or the "hit" - by any name, it's one of the most
exciting and critical moment's of an angler's day. To better
your odds of landing that big pike or trout, put yourself
in the hands of one of our experienced guides.
We
have assembled a host of fine fishing guides who take pride
in their profession and will enhance your trip by being consistently
hard working, affable and knowledgeable. These seasoned guides
will accompany you through the matchless scenery and calm,
protected waters of the Ena Lake Water shed system. They will
take you to and from your fishing in well equipped and maintained
16 ft. pro series boats with new 25 h.p. motors. All the boats
have spring loaded padded, swivel seats and casting platforms.
They are equipped with depth finders, down riggers and radio
communications. The basic premise of guiding - creating a
great fishing experience for you - remains.
Amenities
include an icebox of your choice of cold beverages including
an assortment of beer and soda pop to choose from.

We
invite you to enjoy a moment in time you shall never forget;
something others wish to experience, but few do. You really
need to be here to experience that initial strike, and the
following battle. The bend of the rod, thinking it might snap
(but it never does), the whirring of the line as the fish
runs, the rare glimpse of your prize, but not quite enough
to really know what you've got on, the flying leap meters
from the boat and, finally, your heart races as you realize
it will be the largest fish to adorn your mantle piece. Very
skillfully and in one motion, your guide will net what was
the result of your experience of a lifetime. Photos will be
taken to show your friends and loved ones these species do
exist and it is possible to have the good fortune to be part
of it all. Hopefully, they will have their opportunity to
experience what has been an experience of a lifetime for you.
We
have designed an ingenious fishing experience where our professionalism
appears in what will be done for you. The lodge will have
a relaxed personal atmosphere. The fireplace will warm you,
a glass of your favorite beverage will relax you, our fine
and sumptuous food will satisfy you and our crew will give
you the finest of care.
It
is at that time you will say, "I'm hooked - I'll be back
for another memorable expedition". We take care of everything,
so you can spend your valuable time at ease, while having
FUN, FISHING. |
