Your
destination is located on the northwest corner of the island
which is the east/central portion of the lake. From Saskatoon
it's a 3 hour flight from Saskatoon to Stony Rapids and then
an hour scenic float plane trip to the lodge. Guests will
arrive the night before in order to get their gear in order
for their first day of their great adventure. Our hard working
staff know the guests are eager to get out and drop their
first line and we definitely cater to that. For those with
the urge to wet an immediate line, a one minute walk brings
you to the lake.
The
next morning wake up to the aroma of a fresh coffee and pastry
tray delivered to your door. Take a before breakfast stroll
and scan the shoreline for wildlife, breathing deep the crisp,
clean Canadian air. With the blended fragrance of the lake
and forest and the morning sun warming your face, you can
wipe the dew from your favorite fishing setup - all with wonderful
anticipation for what lies ahead.
After
a delicious breakfast served in the dining room you will meet
your guide at the dock and discuss your fishing plans for
the day.
You
will fish in a spectacular wilderness where the coastal landscape
has remained the same for hundreds of years. The wildlife
is abundant and the fishing grounds virtually untouched.
Your
lunch will consist of the "fresh catch of the day"
prepared by our "chefs of the grill" and then spend
the afternoon drifting and fishing for those lunker fish,
enjoying the solitude of the quietness that encases you.
After
a full day of fishing, you will return to the lodge. In it's
idyllic setting you can have a cocktail and enjoy the scenery
overlooking the lake from the comfort of an Adirondack chair
or linger in the lodge by the fire, but don't miss dinner.
The
evening meal starts with appetizers in the great room at the
lodge before dinner. Enjoy a cocktail, share stories of the
day with friends and then be seated for a tempting gourmet
dinner. Wines are our great pleasure - we have stocked of
variety of several from different countries around the world.
After dinner spend the evening participating in some of our
many activities. Fishing friends enjoy gathering around the
outdoor barbecue pit on a long summer evening spinning stories
of the day. Perhaps playing a friendly game of cards, reading
a book by the cozy fireplace or taking your partner on for
a game of shuffle board is on your activity card for the evening.
What ever the case your evening will be filled with fine food,
friends and conversation.
The
surrounding hills, rushing tributaries and abundant wildlife
will be an absolute visual feast. Bear, moose, eagle and Canada
Geese all circling overhead a mile high all have their place
in the ecosystem along with the fish - the trout, pike and
grayling. You will visit, admire, enjoy and take your leave
- planning for the next time that you will return to this
place where the wilderness surrounds you, the fishing hooks
you and the grandeur humbles you.
